Funhouse
Williams, 1990, 1-4 players, Serial # 5003 571783
The first time I met the operator we did the bulk buy with, he was cussing a Mars Attacks pinball machine, really ripping it a new one. There were a fair amount of pins laying around, many of them abused and used, a Comet (which I got from him in the bulk buy), Police Force, Guns N Roses, Riverboat Gambler, Star Trek:TNG, and a few others. I didn't really focus on the pins because beyond them, there were a hundred or so arcade machines, which is what I was after. So we start talking about games, and he mentions that he has been searching for a dedicated Taito Elevator Action for quite some time. Figuring that RGVAC'ers would help me out, I told him no problem, I'd get him one. We talked about pins, and I mentioned Funhouse as being one of my favorites from the bar hopping days, that and Fish Tales. Turns out he had a Funhouse that he wanted to get rid of, and offered a partial trade for the Elevator Action, dead or alive, long as it was complete! Cool! Here is the machine:

It's pretty nice, some minor cosmetics on the outside and maybe two very small playfield spots that are worn, the far upper left chute and where the ball enters the playfield. It's mylared, and overall is in great shape. Rudy has full movement and speech, nothing hangs, jams, etc.. and the action on the flippers is perfect. It needs new rubbers (which were included in the trade) and a good cleaning. I have since cleaned it up a little more, using Novus 2 then 1, figuring the mylared playfield would be better protected than using Wildcat 125.

Replaced the slingshot plastics on Rudy, have new legs to install, and need to level him again. He's leaning to the left a bit. A hasty premature decision to Ebay this machine met with an inability to come to terms with Rudy's high bidder. Seems that Ebay added the I-Escrow option to the end-auction notification message, with the bidder interpreted as something I had accepted as a payment option, totally ignoring the text in my auction which clearly stated the payment terms. Well, I wasn't about to pay for crating and shipping costs, risking $250 or so of my money on the odd chance the bidder didn't want the machine. So he told me to forget it, Ebay refunded my final value fee (NOT the listing or featured auction fees) and I still have Funhouse.
